Still more to celebrate in Kamloops this month!

TRU ranks high on worldwide sustainability ranking. From the TRU newsroom: “Thompson Rivers University’s first appearance in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings has placed the university among the world’s top institutions advancing sustainable development.
In its inaugural submission to the THE Sustainability Impact Rankings, TRU ranked in the top 10 per cent worldwide for SDG 13 Climate Action and earned strong results across five additional United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting the university’s commitment to building stronger communities, advancing sustainability and creating positive change through partnership and collaboration.
“The results are more than a ranking,” said President and Vice-Chancellor Airini. “They reflect who we are as an institution. From sustainability and climate action to responsible innovation, community partnerships and the Secwépemc values that guide our work, these results recognize areas where TRU is committed to making a difference.” “
fHeartfelt Congratulations James Gordon. This short highlights reel from you work from the TRU Sustainability office captures the great appreciation so many in the community feel for you – “After years of helping shape sustainability at TRU, James Gordon is heading off on a new adventure.
From helping TRU achieve and maintain its STARS Platinum rating to leading initiatives like Fill it Forward, the car share program, the campus tree program and the annual Trash Bash, James has left a lasting mark on our campus community.
But if you’ve spent any time around James, you know his impact goes far beyond programs and projects. He’s the person who bikes across campus, picks up litter along the way, and regularly appears with a simple question: “Does anyone need this? I just found it outside.”
His passion, energy and commitment to sustainability have inspired countless students, staff and faculty members over the years, and he will be greatly missed.”
