Carney promises inflation

Dear Editor:

Ian MacLean in Kelowna wrote “Ottawa spoke and said ‘NO’ to Poilievre.

Does Ian not know the truth about how loved Pierre Poilievre is in Canadian Politics.

I have great suspicion that Ian MacLean did not once listen to P. Poilievre’s Conservative Platform.  Nor follows Canadian Politics by reading the facts; how badly the Liberal Party has corrupted Canada’s finances. With the trough empty, in 1997–1998 (pie in the face) PM Jean Chretien balanced the budget the first time in 30 years. Raising income taxes.

Increased tax revenue and spending cuts in the ratio of 7:1. The deficit of $42 billion in 1993–1994 began to decrease. During PM J. Trudeau’s leadership, the federal deficit ranged $2.9 thru $327.7 billion.

How leaders fared on election night:

Pierre Poilievre (Conservative Party) • Popular vote: 8,113,484 (41.31 %) • Seats won: 144

Mark Carney (Liberal Party) • Popular vote: 8,595,488 (43.76 %) • Seats won: 169

With an empty basket, PM Mark Carney has promised to deficit finance a minority government.

PM Mark Carney’s total capital spending by debt-financing is about C$53.1 billion for each year 2025 and 2026.

What PM Mark Carney has promised are the Carney-inflation years.

Frustration with city council

Dear Editor:

Greetings.  Today I read Arjun Singh’s article about ending the suffering as to Council and the Mayor with interest.

Since this group was elected (Mayor and Council) it has been a Gong Show.  I think a lot of blame should be placed on all the parties.

What is interesting and lacking from all reporting is who are the ring leaders from the Councillors’ side.  No news outlet, including this newspaper has never named names, too bad.  Hiring an outside party should have said the whole group is to blame and all removed / fired.

The intermediator should have done that, and declared a new election and disqualify all existing members in the special election.  All I see that has been accomplished is more taxes for citizens when ‘children’ fight.

These are dangerous times south of the border

Dear Editor:

I was a sergeant in the Danish military during the early sixties.

My principal instructor at the school I went to was fighting the Russians during that 90-day war in Finland at the beginning of world-war II.

Trump is not a TACO chicken. He is an accomplished actor, a very sick man, and very dangerous.

Trump’s Gestapo-style security people hand-cuffing a U.S. Senator at a news conference and ushering him out of the room should serve as a clear demonstration that Project 2025 has been completed.

The parade on Trumps birthday will be his Victory parade.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has already told the world, the war in Ukraine will be different. We can assume Trump soon will be awarding Putin his long-awaited prize, Ukraine, on a silver platter.

It’s also time to awaken the American public and engage in some dialogue about what the future could be like, with Trump as the undisputed dictator.

With Trump in the driver’s seat, and nobody doing anything to stop him, the doors for another civil and or global war are wide open.

Just read Project 2025

Dear Editor:

In view of what has just happened to the Iranian people in their own country, one person has taken it upon himself to bomb a foreign country. Right or wrong, that action will have far reaching repercussions for everyone worldwide.

Although it has been written in many different ways, the message is still the same.

How very unfortunate the American people stand idle. They all should remember that Adolph Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany, that is the same or equivalent to a US President.

History, in so many ways, is starting to repeat itself and we should all of us remember with clarity, that it did not start with gas chambers. It was a subtle start with One party controlling the media just like Joseph Goebbels did for Hitler.

It started with One party deciding what is truth, their truth. It started with One party controlling the message. It started with One party censoring speech and silencing any opposition. One party dividing its citizens into ‘us and them’ and calling upon their supporters to harass them. Breeding hatred throughout.

All a person has to do is read the Trump Project 2025 online, and you will quickly see the similarities of Hitler and Trump.

So, yes, it started with good people turning a blind eye with the hopes it would just go away.
