Still more to celebrate in Kamloops this month!

The Kamloops Courthouse Gallery Artisan’s Co-Op is proud to announce the successful conclusion of “The Lost Earring Project,” an inspiring initiative that raised $4,058 for the Kamloops Y Women’s Emergency Shelter.

The Kamloops Chronicle collected Post-It Notes on a good news board at our booth during Canada Day! Here are some of the notes that were left by the kind passers-by!

• I get to see my long-distance sister this weekend!

• Canada’s Men’s Soccer team is rockin’ it at FIFA World Cup! Almost as good as the Canadian Women’s team now!

Ellie de Haan, a champion highland dancer from Kamloops, represented BC at the ScotDance Canada Championship Series in Moncton, New Brunswick, in July. She placed in the top 10 against other provincial representatives, and fourth runner up in the Open Championship against dancers from around the world. Ellie dances with the Shalni Prowse School of Highland Dance.

Kamloops is an amazing community with a long-standing culture of kindness and looking out for one another. We need to talk about this more, give it more attention, and keep strengthening our collective goodness.
