The Savour Culinary Festival returns to Sun Peaks Resort from March 16 to 21, 2026. The mountain village shifts into six days of tastings, wine events, and après-ski gatherings. By late afternoon, skis come off, and the village takes over — guests soak up the charming après vibes as they stroll between wine tasting stations, unwind with restorative yoga flows followed by sips and bites, or gather for fireside experiences and chef-driven indulgences amid the buzzing alpine energy.
This year’s feature is the involvement of celebrated chef Vikram Vij, renowned for his modern Indian cuisine and his iconic Vancouver restaurant Vij’s. As co-host, Vij leads the interactive Masterclass Wine-Paired Dinner on March 19, sponsored by Privato Winery. The evening features family-style courses, storytelling from his cookbook My New Indian Kitchen, and Privato wines. He also joins an escorted VIP tasting during the Après Ski Wine Stroll on March 20, ending with a three-course dinner at Powder Hounds.
During a previous visit to Sun Peaks in March 2017, I took part in Vikram Vij’s culinary weekend, a lively hands-on class. I still have the branded apron and reach for it on special occasions.
The festival has expanded through partnerships across the Okanagan and within the village. As Theresa St. Louis, Senior Events Manager for Tourism Sun Peaks, explains: “Savour has evolved significantly since its inception. What began with one signature experience — Epicurean — has grown into a week-long, resort-wide culinary festival featuring six co-hosted events and six stakeholder events, each with its own personality and audience.”
Beyond ticketed dinners and classes, visitors can explore freely with the Savour Passport (available March 1–31), offering exclusive deals and prizes at participating village spots.
Sun Peaks has long drawn visitors for its world-class skiing and mountain adventures, but events like Savour extend visits beyond ski days and highlight the village’s dining scene. “Culinary tourism plays an important role in Tourism Sun Peaks’ long-term event and visitation strategy,” St. Louis notes, creating a well-rounded experience that complements outdoor pursuits with storytelling, connection, and palate-expanding bites.
This year leans into a relaxed, nostalgic tone evident in the retro-inspired Après Ski Wine Stroll (village tastings, a souvenir glass, scavenger-hunt elements, and the optional VIP with Vij March 20) and the elegant Epicurean (March 21, curated by La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, now with VIP access and a new Speakeasy Afterparty). New additions include the BC Wine Tasting Challenge: Judgement at Sun Peaks, a screening of the documentary “Cup of Salvation,” yoga and après sessions, and interactive workshops.
St. Louis described the approach to the food culture: “This year’s festival wasn’t inspired by a single, rigid theme, but rather by the idea of exploration and shared discovery. Savour is intentionally broad in its approach, allowing each event to have its own character while still feeling connected through a sense of nostalgia, celebration, and time well spent—something that comes through most clearly in the retro-inspired Après Ski Wine Stroll and the classic alpine elegance woven into Epicurean.”
For those planning a visit, St. Louis recommends building an itinerary around the mix of culture, learning, and festivity: prioritize the Vikram Vij Masterclass and expanded Epicurean, but don’t miss the Après Ski Wine Stroll, film screening, and casual tastings. Advance tickets are essential for popular events—visit the official site for details. “We encourage visitors to plan their stay around the full week, as the festival has been thoughtfully curated to offer a range of experiences beyond traditional cooking classes and dinners.”
