Alt-right publication spotted in Kamloops

Dear Editor,

I write today with a concern over a disturbing trend I am seeing in Kamloops.

A number of establishments have been distributing an alt-right MAGA newspaper called Druthers, which contains racist filth.

I saw a stack on offer at a Canada Post location recently and was thrown out when I brought up the racist nature of the publication. The stack was in a waiting area for Canada Post where children may be.

Subsequently, an agent of Canada Post told me they are unable to control the material that is placed in the Canada Post area by their contractors. This is a typical cop out. I am sure CSAM would be removed pretty quickly, but violent racism is a-okay according to Canada Post.

It was clear from the Canada Post contractor who threw me out of the store that they likely support the racist nature of the Druthers filth.

I have noticed other establishments with stacks of this filth.

Is Kamloops really this racist?

Grieving for Tumbler Ridge

Dear Editor,

All of B.C. is in shock and grieving for the people in Tumbler Ridge. We all know someone who lives there or has worked there.

The international community has sent messages of condolence, with one notable exception.  Our closest neighbor south of the border has been totally silent, with the exception of the US ambassador, who came out with a very brief statement.

We really do live in interesting times.

On the right track with Carney

Dear Editor,

This country is on the right track with the right person Mr. Mark Carney at the helm. That could not be more obvious than to have another MP cross the floor in the house of commons. MP Matt Jeneroux is of course fed up with (Skippy) Poilivre’s leadership, or should I say lack of leadership. The fact Skippy was voted in by only a select core group of conservatives in Calgary while the rest were left out for fear they would lose, tells you something. A good many conservatives don’t care for Skippy.

Mr. Carney being an educated man with multiple master’s degrees in economics from Harvard and Oxford, as well as holding positions as the Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England for years has the foresight to lead this country.

Skippy on the other hand did an on-line course on international relations from Athabasca University. So, other than being a paperboy with no real-life work experience, he wants to run this country. Being a ward of Canada, having everything paid for him these last 20+ years is not reassuring. He has been at the trough far too long.

Listening to Mr. Carney speak, and answer questions with clarity as it relates to the direction and the investment this government is making is remarkable. Listening to him speak with world leaders on an intellectual level is so reassuring to Canadians. He knows when to speak and when to listen.

Skippy on the other hand is full of slogans, half-truths, misleading information and distortions while trying to understand what is being said. What an embarrassment for Canada.

The question to ask yourself is, what is the biggest difference between Carney and Poilievre?

The answer is as plain as the nose on your face.

Carney is playing international 3D chess while Poilievre struggles with the rules to Go Fish. One is a border collie with a lifetime experience of quietly herding sheep, the other spent a lifetime in the front yard barking at anything that moves.

I believe most Canadians know what Mr. Carney is doing is right and does not happen over-night. Realigning our country for a better future, to be in a position where we are not reliant on the US needs a well-versed worldly person. That person is Mr. Carney who is not a politician but a businessman.
