NIGHTLIFE

January 13, 20, 27 and February 3, 10 at 7:00 pm at Bright Eye Brewing: Trivia Night. Trivia Night Productions brings a full trivia night with prizes, teams, and a fast pace that keeps the room moving. Expect a mix of pop culture, general knowledge, and local bragging rights. Arrive early to grab a table and get your team name in.

February 11 @ 7:00 pm at Bright Eye Brewing: Ella’s Naughty Bingo. Join us for a riotous evening of drag, daubers, and deliciously inappropriate prizes at Naughty Drag Bingo! With Ella Lamoureux at the mic, expect Debauchery, cheek, and a few questionable life choices. Just how we like it. Just $9.50 + $1 Ticketing fee. This ain’t your grandma’s bingo… but grandma is always welcome!

MUSIC

January 9 and 10 at Sagebrush Theatre: Shaken, Not Stirred, The Music of James Bond. The Kamloops Symphony joins Jeans ’n Classics for an evening of James Bond music, from Goldfinger to Skyfall, leaning into the “iconic themes” and “timeless elegance” of 007 soundtracks. The performances are January 9 and 10 at 7:30 pm, plus a January 10 matinee.

January 24 @ 7:30 pm at Kelson Hall: Chamber Players, Three’s Company. This chamber concert is part of the Kamloops Symphony season schedule, presented in the more intimate Kelson Hall setting. Tickets are available at KamloopsLive.

February 7 @ 7:30 pm at Sagebrush Theatre: Bach, Brass and Uncommon Times. The KSO Brass and Percussion move from Bach’s Toccata and Fugue to Valerie Coleman’s Fanfare for Uncommon Times, with “familiar favourites and a few surprises.” This is a concert for changing times where the brass section brings power, colour, and momentum.

THEATRE

January 22 through February 1 at Sagebrush Theatre: Casey and Diana.Directed by WCT’s Executive Director Matt Eger, “Casey and Diana” brings a powerful and deeply moving moment from Canada’s 2SLGBTQIA+ history to the stage. In 1991, during the height of the AIDS crisis, Princess Diana made a historic visit to Toronto’s Casey House – the country’s first free-standing AIDS hospice. At a time marked by fear and misinformation, her simple gesture of compassion broke through stigma and offered dignity to those living with the disease.

DANCE

January 18 @ 7 pm at St. Paul’s Cathedral 360 Nicola Street: Kamloops Social Club January Dance! Come and join in the fun and dance the night away, featuring Sierra who does a great mix of country and pop music. Admission is $15 at the door.

January 30 @ 7 pm at Maurya’s Monthly Social Dance: Beginner’s Salsa. It’s the first social dance of 2026 will take place on January 30th, and it is going to be super fun as usually and on top of that we will be dancing for a purpose. For all our events, 20% of every ticket will go toward offering dance lessons and opportunities to children in underserved communities in Colombia.

ART

January 10 @ 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Kamloops Arts Council Old Courthouse Gallery: The DIS//CONNECT Commemorative Red Bridge Exhibition Opening Reception.  Featuring work by over 20 artists and more than 40 individual pieces, the exhibition reflects on how the loss of the bridge disrupted movement, access, and connection within Kamloops and how art can act as a space to come together in its absence.Paintings, poetry, digital design, glasswork, mixed media, print media, audio soundscapes, and public interactive activities bring together people from all backgrounds and experience levels.

January 7 through January 24 at Kamloops Art Gallery: Time and Space. The gallery’s winter exhibitions continue through mid January with viewing days built around regular hours and public access. If you want a quieter visit, aim for off peak afternoons and take your time with the wall texts and context. Check the gallery calendar for any guided tours, programming, or family activities tied to the show.

LITERATURE

January 12 through March 9 at Kamloops Downtown Library: Parent Child Mother Goose. This is described as a group experience for parents and young children, centered on rhymes, songs, and stories, with the “pleasure and power” of early language and literacy. The Winter 2026 schedule includes sessions beginning in mid January, with registration and multiple dates posted online. It’s a strong pick for families who want a weekly rhythm.

January 13 @ 1:30 pm at Parkview Community Centre: Creative Memoir Writing with KALS. The course description names the big questions, how to begin, is it worthy, and whether family will side eye the truth, then promises a variety of memoir writing options and a doable plan to get the story told. It’s positioned as practical, encouraging, and structured for people who want momentum without overwhelm. Registration is through KALS Winter 2026.

February 5 @ 10:00 am at Kelson Hall: Arti fictional Intelligence with KALS. This session frames AI through a creative and literary lens, with the instructor described as a writer, editor, and university instructor who now works as a researcher and writer for a software CEO. The listing plays with the question of who, or what, writes in the future, and invites participants into that conversation in a classroom setting.

COMMUNITY

January 13 and January 20 @ 1:30 pm at Parkview Community Centre: Meet an RCMP Dog Master. KALS lists two afternoon sessions with a Kamloops-based RCMP dog master and their canine partner. This is an introduction to the life and work of a police dog master, with the hope of a live “quarry” demonstration.

January 14 @ Thompson Rivers University: Youth Leadership Conference. TRU is throwing a full day youth leadership conference event for leadership development and connection. The conference is all about community building, learning, and youth focused programming. If you work with youth or have a teen who wants leadership experience, this is a solid marker on the winter calendar. Registration detailson TRU website.

January 21 through February 8 across Kamloops: Taste Around Kamloops. Tourism Kamloops is hosting their annual winter food event, which takes place over multiple weeks, inviting people to “taste around” the city with participating restaurants and set offerings. It’s built as a choose your own adventure style crawl rather than a single night, so you can plan a couple of spots or treat it like a fun food-filled adventure. January 24 @ 9:00 am to noon at the Jon Todd Center: ABC Family Day! A kick-off to Family Literacy Week, the event will have a gathering of community partners offering activities, storytime, and information for youth and families as part of Family Literacy Week in Kamloops.

January 24 and 25 at Sandman Centre: SCFCA Winter Gathering Pow Wow weekend with dance and drum programming. Come and witness this fantastic public cultural gathering steeped in in dance, song, and community. See facebook for details.

February 6 and February 13 @ 10:00 am at Kamloops Sports Council: Understanding, Protecting, and Appreciating our BC Bats. Kamloops Adult Learning Society is hosting an amazing workshop all about BC bats. This is for all the enthusiasts who want practical knowledge and a deeper appreciation of local wildlife. Educational and accessible, this session is designed for all. Information is on the KALS website, along with many other offerings.

WELLNESS

January 13 and 14 @ 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at 243 Seymour Street: Free Two Day InspireHealth Life Program. This Signature InspireHealth LIFE Program provides patients with the essential foundations of health and well-being during their cancer experience. This program is open to patients with all types of cancer, whether newly diagnosed, in treatment, or post-treatment, and their support people.

BUSINESS

January 13 @ 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Yew Street Food Hall: NSBIA Business Mixer. We are going to kick it off at the Yew Street Food Hall! If you are a local business on The Shore – owners, staff & Managers you are all welcome! There will be appies, fabulous networking and of course door prizes! January 18 @ 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Paramount Theatre: F.I.N.E. Film Industry Networking Event. If you’re a filmmaker in the Thompson-Nicola region, we’re inviting you to submit a 5-minute excerpt from one of your past or current projects to play on the big screen along with other submissions. Shorts, features, docs, anything you’ve created is welcome. This is a chance to share your work, connect with other filmmakers, and highlight the creativity in our community.
